We all love a good snake piece, and I look at so many. This one totally won me over with the fantastic detail to the bale. A snake bale is something I have never seen, and I'm a sucker for a cool detail.

This late Victorian locket was most likely worn as a mourning piece, with the locket back used to contain hair of a beloved. The gold snakes contrast the onyx oval so beautifully.

The larger snake has diamond set eyes, just for an added twist.

This is a special piece, there's no doubt about it.

Tests as 15ct gold, aside from the locket aperture, which is gilt.
